Jaguar Yu
Jaguarus Curiosus · A baby jaguar from the jungles of Chiapas
“Grrawrr!”
Hiii, hiii, hiii! Thank you for coming to play with me! I'm Yu! Ready to explore? Then move those little paws, open your eyes wide and come with me! Grrrr!
I'm a baby jaguar and I live in the jungles of Chiapas, in Mexico, among super-tall trees, giant leaves and mysterious sounds. Did you know that we jaguars are the biggest cats in all of the Americas? The biggest! Although I'm still tiny and I loooove getting into mischief! A very long time ago, the Maya saw the jaguar as a powerful and special animal. What a treasure it is to wear these little spots!

I'm a professional explorer! What's that? And that? What does it smell like? What happens if I touch it? I run, I climb, I splash and I let out roars that sound like a T-rex. Yesss, I love dinosaurs! But after so much adventure, something funny happens to me: my little eyes start to close and… boom! Sleepiness wins! I curl up into a ball and let the jungle fall quiet.
And you know what helps me sleep so nicely? My bedtime routine! Let's do it together, step by step:
Did we do it all? Great job, little explorer! Close your eyes… Yu-ru-ru… To sleep all snuggled up and dream sweet dreams, I have a lullaby called «Pedacito de mi Corazón» (A Little Piece of My Heart).
And I also have a special song for Dad on his day! It's livelier, with a fun pop beat, and it's called «Mi Energía Eres Tú» (You Are My Energy). Because even the most mischievous jaguars have a great big heart for loving our dads!
Even the bravest explorer needs a hug, a pause and a night of dreams for the next adventure!

For grown-ups
The jaguar (Panthera onca) is the largest cat in the Americas and an emblematic species of Mexican ecosystems. For cultures such as the Maya and the Mexica it held deep symbolic importance, associated with strength and the spiritual world. Today it faces threats like habitat loss and hunting.
In the series, Yu represents curiosity, learning through exploration and the importance of rest. He invites little ones to observe the world, ask questions and discover, without feeling they have to know everything. And he reminds us that resting isn't wasting time: it's a natural need to recover energy. Because even the most daring explorer needs a hug and a night of dreams.
