Choco el Coco
Cocodrilus Ambiciosus · A swamp crocodile from Tabasco
“I want more!”
Heeey, heeey! Step aside, Choco's here! The big boss, the boss of bosses, the chief of this swamp!
I'm a crocodile straight from Tabasco, in southeastern Mexico, where there's water everywhere and the heat never takes a day off! I live among rivers, swamps and mangroves. I love to splash around, take nice mud baths and sunbathe with my belly up. And did you know that we crocodiles are soooo ancient that our ancestors were already roaming the world back when the dinosaurs lived? I'm practically a dinosaur with a snout! That's why I have this tough skin: a natural suit of armor!

But let's get to the important part: I WANT IT ALL! Is there treasure? Mine! Is there food? Mine! And if something sparkles, I want it double! To help me with my grrrrand plans, I've got my inseparable sidekick: Mingo, my best buddy! I come up with the ideas and he lends me a claw. We're the most powerful team in the swamp! Well… that's what we think. Because, just between us, our plans almost always end in one great big mess!
My little problem? When I try to keep everything for myself, I get into the biggest messes… And the worst part is that, when I finally get everything I wanted, I realize something terrible: I've got no one to play with! Because a huge treasure isn't worth much if you have no one to celebrate it with. Even the bossiest crocodile gets bored all alone!
But watch out, this crocodile still has a lot to learn. Little by little I'm discovering that being the boss doesn't mean keeping everything, but making sure everyone has fun. You give me a little? And I'll share a little back! Because in the end, things are way more fun when we share them with friends!
And while you're here, I've got a really funny song: a reggaeton to make you laugh. It's called «Quiero Más» (I Want More).
Things are way more fun when we share them with friends!
Choco in action

For grown-ups
Choco is inspired by Morelet's crocodile (Crocodylus moreletii), a species native to Mexico that lives in the wetlands, rivers and lagoons of the southeast, especially in Tabasco.
For decades, crocodiles were hunted for their skin to make bags, shoes and luxury goods, which pushed the species to the brink of extinction. Today they are protected in Mexico. And here's a lovely irony to talk about with little ones: Choco, so ambitious and obsessed with having the biggest and shiniest things, embodies exactly the anti-values — greed and vanity for luxury objects — that nearly wiped out his own species. That's what makes his journey toward sharing and letting go matter even more.
In the series, Choco is the ambitious boss and Mingo his inseparable accomplice: a duo as funny as it is disastrous. Through their misadventures, little ones discover that wanting everything for yourself can leave you without the most important thing: the joy of sharing with others. Because sharing isn't having less, but discovering that the fun grows when everyone enjoys it.
